Computer Systems Specialist

Responsibilities:
Provides advance computer assistance and maintenance support to end users. Administers the local area network. Troubleshoots and resolves multi-user computer systems and connectivity problems, including user access and componentconfiguration.
Installs, administers, maintains and troubleshoots client and server hardware, network operating system, and software. Tests and debugs system configurations. Writes structured command language script, using revelant scripting languages to support systems.
Coordinates with 24×7 Helpdesk to ensure appropriate monitoring and handling of computer system issues. Responds to escalations, tickets, and alerts from the Helpdesk.
Monitors the capacity, utilization, workload, and service level of computer systems. Reommends necessary upgrade and maintenance of computer systems.
Administers the Enterprise Meseging System.
Uses judgement in selecting among autorized change procedures and seeks assistance when guidelines are inadequate, significant deviations are proposed, or when unanticipated problems arise.
Prepares and maintains reports and applicable records of computer hardware and software inventory by site and system, user lists, user accounts and security, site and/or server licensing, and user access and security.
May perform a variety of administrative support functions such as backup and restoration of data.
Maintains a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art technology, equipment and restoration of data.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronic and Communications Engineering, or other degree in Math and Sciences
A minimum of 1 year experience in the installation, administration and maintenance of Windows Operating System for server and desktops, as well as basic TCP/IP is required
Experience with servers (SQL Server 2000) an advantage
Certification Required: MCP
